Residential Life

RMI understands that the client’s successful transition into society will take time. Clients are permitted adequate time to meet individual goals while residing in a safe, supportive community. This allows a stress-free focus on goal-attainment without the hurried feel of other 6-month term programs.

Clients who live onsite reside in residential quarters consisting of multiple occupancy rooms of four-bed, two-bath accommodations. Sleeping quarters for male and female residents are dormitory-styled and located in separate residence halls of the facility: Freedom Hall (men) and Liberty Hall (women); each accommodating a maximum of forty men and forty women, in addition to living and study areas. Four clients share an apartment, are responsible for maintaining an orderly and clean living area, and must comply with daily room inspections. A 10-member Resident Council represents the voice of clients and present resolutions to program administrators for positive change.

Monthly dorm meetings highlight issues, concerns, and disseminate information. Clients are subject to a curfew of 10pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends.

Case Aides (CAs) are trained staff (assigned three to a hall) responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the clients while providing supervision to the facility 24 hours a day. CAs ensures the general safety and wellbeing of the clients, promotes friendly, trusting relationships, and enhances socialization skills. Clients share a common lounge area for leisure, relaxation, and dine in the facility cafeteria. There is a zero tolerance policy for drug use, violence, theft, and sexual misconduct. Violation of this policy is grounds for expulsion. Clients are subject submit to random drug testing.
